Carlite was asked by NPD to manufacture a fresh run of windshields which they agreed to do. However there's no guarantee once the current ones sell out that Carlite will make more. I'd buy one now and store it somewhere safe.I know they are no longer made so what is the going rate for one? The reason I ask is I was thinking about locating one for a spare. I have a set of clean 1/4 glass windows so good there. I am going to also find a set of door glass as I would like original if I can find it but seems like most have the vertical scratches in them from crap in the belt molding. I am not concerned about the windshield as you can still get those new and I am not worried about it being NOS stuff.
I found a really clean rear glass for @bird_dog0347 coupe project for around $200. It was a non defrost one which is what we wanted. Id say prices range from 2-300 but the trick is finding one that not all scratched up. You almost have to lay eyes on one before buying. NOS one do exist but expect 1000 or more.
