Couple of Questions, Help!!

Hey I'm new to the mustang world with my 97 V6 and i just had a couple of questions hoping to get the anwsers...

1. the car will need a new clutch soon so i was wondering if i should get the king cobra clutch ( if it will fit??) or the stock OEM one

2. when i get exhaust should i get direct fit or true dual. will i lose touque with the true dual or is this a myth?

3. radiator will prob. need to be replaced soon also if the heater core is fine, once again should i get a performance one ( if there is one made) or should i just go with a OEM one?

4. front right turn signal only works sometimes, what could cause this?

1) no idea

2) myth. I have MAC and I love them. They aren't quite as loud as the flowmaster 40 series, but you get a much higher flow - better mileage. Never heard that about the torqure thing. Not true on mine.

3) no idea

4) wire short, loose bulb, bad switch. when it doesnt work, what happens? Does it not turn on at all, does it blink really fast in the car but not outside or what? Need more info on that.

it works fine in the back and when it doesnt work in the front it blinks real fast, seems to work with the headlights on. should i just drive with my headlights on all the time?

so it always works on the back? That probably means you have a bad wire connection to the front one....try taking out the headlight CAREFULLY and make sure it's plugged in fully, and that you don't see any corrosion around the wires....i'm going to go take some pics and show you how to remove the headlight...it's very simple.

For a clutch go with SPEC or Centreforce, both are quality clutches. I haven't heard great things about King Cobra, but if someone has one maybe you could let us know?? I have a centreforce and it works great for the last year now.

ive seen the king cobra clutch on mustangtuning.com but not sure if it will fit on a V6 are they the same on GT's and v6's

I believe ours is an 11" clutch? check the size and see if it is 11" or 10.5"??

1. Clutch - Another vote here for Centerforce.
2. Exhaust - Go true dual. An experienced shop will be able to do it for you easily.
3. Radiator - I don't know much about performance radiators, but also do not see many people have one. An OEM should work fine.
4. Turn Signals - Check your wires, bulbs, switches, like Chris said.

True dual is fine, but you will shift your torque curve a small amount UP in the rpm range....that's just the way it is. You'll gain some hp on the top end though.


Oh, and do not go any larger than 2.25" piping, or it WILL be a complete dog off the line.

well nevermind I was thinking for some reason you had an 01+, so my headlights wont work the same yours do, however if you can get them out just go and make sure they are plugged in well on the turn signals.

I would check the bulb. i had the same problem in my escort when i bought it. The person who owned it previous must have changed it and put a higher output bulb in. well, it messed with the flasher mechanism and didn't blink correctly. i would say its just the wrong bulb. my next check would be change the flasher, then the column. Start at the cheapest cause of the problem first though, which is the bulb.

I've seen multiple cars that have been in fender benders to minor wrecks have their turn signals blink rapidly if thats what you mean.
