couple questions

I took my oil pan off today and read the crank #'s E7AE-AA... is this a H.O crank? and what runs the oil pump? theres a shaft but what runs it? and because im changing the (foxbody) oil pan to a (68) mustang oil pan do I need a new oil pickup tube? I looked online for them and cant find one. Maybe the one thats already on the motor will work with this new oil pan because the sump is in the same location.. but its all beaten up and I rather replace the whole oil pump assembly because I didnt see that shaft move after turning over the motor by hand:shrug:

That is crank out of a 5.0 motor. HO or non HO is no different but the 5.0 is 50oz where the 302 is 28 oz.

The oil pump is driven by the distributor. The shaft from the oil pump engages the bottom of the distributor shaft. The distributor, of course, is turned by the cam.

A fox body oil pan is a rear sump. The early mustang is a front sump so the pick ups are different. Don;t be fooled by the small front sump of the fox body pan. Thisis just there to give celareanc for the oil pump the sump is in the rear.
