A new problem has raised its' ugly head and I can't figure out how to repair it. The courtesy lights stay on whether or not the doors are shut or closed. I replaced the little black shut off buttons, but that didn't do anything. I took them completely off so that there was an open circuit, and that didn't help. The courtesy lights still stay on no matter what. I have the bulbs out now until I can get some answers in how to repair them. Any ideas?

You know, the rotary part of the lightswitch that controls the dimmer action on your dash lights?

If you turn it past the stop it activates the courtesy lights.

Please post back if this does/does not fix it. Thx.

Dennis is asking you if the headlight switch is turn all the way to the left, causing the interior lights to be on.
The headlight switch has been turned every way but loose with no dhange. Yeah, I know the headlight switch can be turned all the way to the left and the interior lights come on, but that is not my problem. It's a wiring problem that I will have to figure out. Thanks for your input guys.

Your switch failed. Unplug it see if the lights go out.

Since you said you already yanked the door jamb switches and they are still on, try pulling fuses until they go out so you at least know which circuit is feeding them.

was it working fine before and then just started doing this? or was it after you wired some stuff? if it's the first case then mis matched wires can be eliminated as the problem, and then maybe you should look at your headlight switch to see if it needs to be replaced (although i've never heard of them going bad).
