Cowl slots for cooling?

I ran across a thread while searching and saw a pic of a car with the cowl slotted. Does anyone know where I can get the cutting specs for this? I included the link.

I've seen that sort of cowl mod before and I really don't think it's a very good idea. The cowl is also the location for the interior air ventilation, which means you're feeding all the fumes from your engine directly to the passenger compartment of the car. This is one of those things that may look neat, but there's no good reason at all for doing it.
