I was recently installing a water temp. sensor and after I was done it seemed that it wasn't tight enough spitting coolent everywhere. so I tightened it again and nothing changed. I finally just took it out and put the stock plug back in. while tightening the plug I realized that there was 2 cracks in the lower intake manifold leading out from the hole that were expanding as i tightened the plug. I found this somewhat strange that the aluminum had cracked so easily. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Yeah, that sandcast aluminum cracks pretty easily, especially when you are screwing an NPT sensor into it. You can get it welded, or put some JB Weld on it.

that sucks:notnice:
i'd say it's time for an upgrade.
look around town for an explorer intake, might as well get the gt40 heads too,if you can find them, also a new cam, lifters, roller ro........
wait a minute, the cash spent is starting to add up,
maybe just do what the other guy's suggested, that will fix you right up.
:nice:

If this is a stock intake, I'm sure someone here would be willing to give you one for the cost of shipping, maybe a couple dollars more for the hassle. I threw my stock intake out years ago, but I'm sure someone here has one. Next time, wrap some teflon tape around the threads on that sensor, and it will seal without over torquing it.
