how can i tell if i have a cracked or damaged motor mount? there is a vibration under the car whenever i give it load or when i start it up. it feels like the exhaust is vibrating on something else. the only thing i can think of would be the engine "twisting" enough that even ample clearance causes an issue. i checked under the car and didnt find any clearance issues, i have at least 1/2" on the closest areas of possible contact. any ideas? thanks

Those rubber mounts are 10 years old, go ahead and swap them both out and hit the tranny too while you're under there. They are most likely dead. With the 'safety' design of the mounts, there won't be a large amount of engine movement. Just imagine two chain links with rubber between them.

well, i just noticed that my stock midpipe is at an angle, tilted towards the passenger side...wierd. could this be a damaged mount?

how much are motor mounts and how hard are they to replace? and how much would it cost roughly?

ok, i just noticed that my entire engine is sitting at an angle (the same as the exhaust). so it has to be a bad mount.

so tell me, is it feasible to do it myself? if not, how much roughly would a shop charge? thanks folks.
