Parking is a premium around my apartment and I get what seems to be tree sap on my car everyday. Is there anything (wax, treatment, etc.) I can put on the car so I can remove it with a "california duster" every day?

I don't know what happened but i washed my car last saturday just to find that the bird crap and some tree sap ate through the clear coat and now if you see it at an angle you can totally see it. I was wondering also how the hell can i fix this.

bird crap really eats away at the paint ...fast too ...if you notice any, you need to get it off immediatly ...if it sits for a few hours it will mess it up permantely ...sap is bad too ...my car is black so everything is worse ...i usually use some micro compound and glaze/wax on it after i get it off to try to get the stain out ...works pretty good for sap marks, but the bird crap stains -I can't seem to get some of them out.

Yep, a car cover is the only thing that will prevent these nasties from sticking to your paint.

Bug/Tar remover, best stuff evah!~ It should remove all of the tree sap without hurting the clear coat, I had to clean some sap off my car a few days ago, didn't have any problems using the remover, you can get some at Pepboys, or Wal-Mart.

i had my car pro detailed and then 2 days later it already had sap burned into the paint. been almost 2 months now i gave up trying to get it out. i went out and bought a claymagic kit and meguairs 3 step system with paint cleaner, polish, wax.

Going to give that a shot and buy a good car cover. Sucks having black and having to park outside eh? I totally feel your pain. I think about painting my car white or silver every day so I no longer have to deal with it.

Here in FL, and probably other southern states, for about 1 month in late spring or early summer, we get inundated with what are called "Love Bugs" (they fly in pairs, united..seriously). Often you'll drive thru swarms of them and get hit with 20, 30, 40 or so in a few seconds! They are a major mess and very corrosive. BTW, WD-40 works well to remove these (and other bugs) and it is very mild (won't harm the paint).
I haven't tried in on tree sap yet, however, but it's worth a try.

This stuff is real light clear liquid.

And I'm stupid for not thinking about a Car Cover.

Duh
