This all started a few weeks ago. Started with the water pump going out on me. heading down the road and I notice the battery wasnt charging and temps shot up fast. pull over to see the belt had fallen off and was being tore up. Got it home and put another belt on. Now I could see the fan was wobbling like crazy and almost hitting the radiator. So i tore it down and began to put a new water pump on. well a bolt snaps during install..... yeah I knew I should have just bought new ones. well....... it snaps half way under the timing cover. timing cover has now got to come off along with the new water pump that was half way installed. get bolt out and install everything back into car. fire it up and runs. step up to new 180* thermo and new water neck.

well at the time there was also a high pitched squeal from the engine bay and one on the inside of the car. The one in the car sounded like the TB. So i pull out the trans (again) and take out the TB. it actually looks good. FIgure while i am in there I might as well pull off the bellhousing and look at the clutch.... THANK GAWD I did. Not much left on the friction disc and the flywheel had a shyt load of hot spots. So I replace the clutch with a LUK pro gold. I ordered a new Exedy cable from ebay. It is OEM quality non adjustable and silky smooth. Now, I dont have a firewall adj (not that it would have helped) and the quad is FRPP sooooooooo shyt, with the cable being non adjustable it is too short and the clutch wont fully engage. At the higher rpms if I give it a little gas it slips. as most of you know this is not good on a new clutch (glazing, hotspots etc.) but I need it for work. So I take it easy and dont get on it AT ALL for two days. ordered a FRPP adj clutch cable and it works like a charm. THe clutch engages nice and smooth so I didnt glaze or destroy it and is silky like. (anyone want a non adj cable on the cheap PM me)

AND THE LAST NOISE from the engine bay is...... you may have guessed..... the idler pulley. being that my car is an 88 it has a pulley that has walls on the side to keep the belt on. And of course no one makes it this way anymore so I bought the one the local checkers had. SOOO about $500 later I have my car back again.

all and all it was nothing major but just enough to put a little stress in my life.

Now as some of you may remember I sold my 01 GT (regrets) and bought this car as I always wanted a notch (should have kept both). The great thing about it is it is paid off ($1500 from previous owner who couldnt fix a simple vacuum leak) stock 88 LX notch. I added a set of ponies, short throw shifter, ford B springs and the latest fixes. It now sports 147k miles and starts everytime (aside from when the battery went dead LOL). I have been offered double what I paid for it and it still needs paint (a few chips on the old but still looks awesome IMO)

The thing I hated about the 01 was it had payments and I couldnt add anything as money was going into paying it off. but it was a much more refined car and very comfy.

Anyways there is no rhyme or reason to this thread just thought I would share my latest experiences with the fox.
