When I first got my 86 GT I had an idea to put in a 514 (or bigger) with twin turbo's. I know it sounds crazy but has anyone done this? And, what would it be like with 40lbs of boost?

Yeah... that definately sounds pretty crazy. I'm sure it's been done before basically a 460 swap with twin turbos, i know holcombmotorsports.com has all the parts for the swap, might want to give them a call. You'll have a hard time getting traction though, and even if you manage to you have fun trying to keep the front wheels on the ground.

yeah, people put those engines in things all the time...THERE CALLED JET FIGHTERS! haha, that would we a sick engine...and you would have to put it in a funny car or some similar frame design to keep the car intake on a launch.

it could be done...but youd have to run coolant lines all the way to the front of the car and make a custom cradle for the engine and trans. plus it wouldnt fit right because of the way all transmissions are set up for mustangs. unless you planned on sitting right next to it and having like a 2 inch drive shaft.

Well it's gonna have to wait anyhow because I already have a new motor in right now.
But, maybe another fox I'll put the beast in...if I can.

How about dropping one of these babies into your stang?

Traction may be an issue (you did say 514 or biggger).

Well, from my dyno program you should get around 1800hp.
Yeah, I think the Mustangs body can handle that with no problem.
That would be so much fun!
Oh, and it has to be a daily driver.

That's a large tanker engine. 108,902hp and 5,608,312ft-lbs of torque might be just a little over kill. CAN YOU SAY 600+MPH!?

I'd say traction probably wouldn't be a problem. Here's why:
If you have the dough or time to get that engine to fit, upgrade the tranny, rear, suspension, and reinforce the chassis then you will definitely have the money/time to tub the car and put some meats under the rear fenders.

Broken. I think you could far exceed the 385-series block strength with 40 psi. Maybe try a 4-bolt CJ block, but even then...
