Anyone ever deal with Texas Hot Rod? http://stores.ebay.com/Texas-Hot-Rods
They have a sweet deal on headers. Just wondering if anyone ever had any trouble with them. They are offering new BBK full length headers for fox body mustangs. 1 5/8" pipes into a 2 1/2 collector. Both pipes fully Jet Hot coated for $389 delivered. I'm thinking aobut picking up a pair, just wanted to see everyones opinion. The headers aren't directly listed you have to call and talk to them.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have. I got my Mac catback from them. They're legit just really slow on delivery. I ordered my Catback on a sunday, by Tuesday it had cleared my credit card and they had still not shipped it. When I called they said they needed to wait for it to clear, BS as stated before it had already cleared. I jumped online and found the catback cheaper somewhere else, when i called to cancel they freaked and shipped the same day. I say go for it.. maybe they'll be better with you about the shipping.

If you called the El Paso store, they are one of my local speed shops. They sometimes have good deals, but they are somewhat shady. I feel weird buying from them in person. If you get pricing from someone, make sure you get their name because pricing differs with who you talk to. Also how do you know if it is Jet Hot ceramic coating and not the stock ceramic coating the BBK come with at Summit Racing for $369?

yeah i was skeptical about the jet hot coating as well. Their add says that they have Jet Coating available and the guy on the phone said so too. I guess unless it comes with a certificate or something how would you know.

If you are not in a hurry, I can drive to their shop on Monday and ask to see these Jet Hot coated BBKs. I guess they send them out, because there is not a Jet Hot coating shop in El Paso. If I am not mistaken, Jet Hot coats both inside and out, as where BBK only coats the outside.

That would be awesome if you could!

I was about to break down and buy the set of chrome ones from them and the matching h-pipe...for the long tube bbk's. If they are a true jet hot i'll get them but f they are the generic ceramic coating i think i'll bite the bullet and go chrome becaus ei keep my stang in a garage. Thanks in advance!

I called them today to see if I could stop by, no answer :nonono: I will give them a try tomorrow for you, I am interested myself. I have a set of BBK shorties header that are chrome, other than the chrome lasting for two days they are awesome. If I was going to do it over again, I would have gotten the ceramic ones.

Great, let me know if you find anything out.
Thanks :nice:

Talk to them today, they told me the ad is a typo and they are going to fix it. :nonono: The $389 BBK headers they are selling are not jet-hot coated, they are the regular ceramic BBKs(which they don't even have in stock). Summit sells them for $369, I would go with Summit.

Thanks for the info, I'm definately not screwing around with half-assed companies.

I appreciate the call too. I had called them about a week ago whne i first saw them and the guy i talked to even said it was jet hot and they have them in stock.....what a scammer!!!!

I have had excellent business with them. Good luck.

For a while they were a good company, I bought my SFCs, TB and pony rims from them. Then all of a sudden, they started screwing people bad. As p.exeter_bleu mentioned, their own mechanics left them and started a new shop.
