Crazy Oil Pressure

Okay, when at idle, or without load the pressure is just fine. But when say... getting on the freeway, getting on the gas say to pass another vehicle my oil pressure pegs down to the danger zone. Anyone got any ideas?

Plan on a new oil pump and such soon, but hope it's not a matter of clearance issues with the crank/rods/etc

Stock pressure gauge or aftermarket mechanical gauge?

If it's stock ...it's probably the oil pressure sending unit.

Change that first ...they're cheap and easy.

The stock gauges are not very reliable.

Guess first order of business is a new oil pressure sending unit.

Yes it's the stock one, but I never thought they would be that unreliable.

I'll give you guys an update asap

Well if you had zero oil poressure you would know it. Theres either a leak the size of Texas or you would hear some noise for the engine. My money is on the sending unit.
