for a solid daily driver use a 750 cfm carb. if this is a toy that might see some strip time, and you want some flash, then DH has an excellent suggestion. dual quads, with either the 390 or 450 cfm holley's.

Carb was just switch for a 750 Holley.. screw the choke

No budget for quads.. at this moment.

However the Barry Grant "Bad Man" is a pretty cool deal and they are working on a Ford application.. hmmm

Thanks for the tips guys.

Looks like the engine will come in at just over $7k from carb to pan.. It's amazine how the parts add up so quick.

I've seen 2 408 builds with different carbs and compression from someone I know.

The first one was almost your exact motor other than it had a vic jr intake and the 205's were massaged by Ed Cutis. Same compression and the exact cam I believe. The carb was a Biggs preped 750. Motor made 563hp but I can't remember the tq.

The second one had camshaft spects in the .610 lift range, same Curtis preped heads with a super vic., 14 to 1 comp. and a Biggs preped 950. This one only made 612hp with this one being the race version. The super vic had to be custom milled to fit right for some reason.

Give up 50 hp for pump gas and be streetable? I'd do it.

I've been drooling a bit over that one. The Trans-Am vibes are too strong! - Can't resist it! Do you know anything about when it will be released for the 351W ?

i found an eagle distributor that sells cheap bought a kit from him, seems like its a machine shop with a really good account with eagle, if eagle makes it he can get for ya. i saved 200 bucks buying a stroker kit from them compared to jegs or summit.

http://www.gofaststuff.com/kits.html

after i had my block bored i checked piston bore clearance and it was too loose i called and asked a few questions, he said the machine shop i took it to honed it too much and he would trade pistons for me if i wanted to bore the block out again.

Mustang's unlimited sells a repop 3x2 setup (which is what I have on my 331) that's priced $1000 less than the BG set. But using adapters isn't my choice in doing things like this. They also sell the intake separately as well.

Hey Steve,
Good to see you here at Stangnet.
I have been following your project since you began your search for a car.
This will be a VERY nice car for a $26,000 investment

Hey Scott, nice to see ya!

Yep, I think it's a pretty cool car for the price and it gets a lot of attention because it's something different.

I might end up with the nicest "70 Fairlane" in the country.. That would impossible with my Camaro. lol

The benefit of building something offbeat is less competition
