I have my rearend in pieces rebuilding the traction lock and I need a new cross pin and the retaining bolt. I cant find them anywhere, and a few places told me they dont carry it. I have seem them for a 7.5" but not for an 8.8". I would imagine if a ford dealership has it, they would charge an arm and a leg. Does anyone here know where I can get one
Thanks doods

What's wrong with the one you pulled out? I'd say go to the junkyard. Actually, if they are all the same, I at least have a center pin from an auburn posi laying around. You can have it for the cost of shipping.

I just wanted to replace it while i am here. I really dont need to replace the pin, What I really need is the retaining bolt. The shaft on the bolt is slightly bent. I can probably get away with it the way it is but I would rather replace it.

When I had my Axles out I replaced the Bolt, it was only a couple bucks from the Ford Dealer.

I wouldn't think either would be super expensive since Ford has been using the same diff forever. I need a new bolt too. Just took mine apart today and the head on the bolt is a bit stripped from the numb nuts who put my gears in.

LRS has the cross pins for $15. They have the bolts too.

If you want to replace the bolt only, I found them at NAPA for a couple of bucks.

I'll be... I can't find it either. First time I've visited their updated website.

I know I picked one up at NAPA. Found it in the same rack where they keep the door hinge pin kits.

Little hard-to-find stuff like that usually isn't too expensive from the dealer. And it seems like a junk yard wouldn't want to get rid of one without selling the whole carrier.

For real? You could almost buy a brand new traction-lok with 140$. Are dealership prices standardized? It just seems every time I have to get parts from the one here, the prices aren't terrible. But I have heard of horror stories like that before.

Are you sure?

The cross pins are only $15 at LRS. $40 if you buy one notched for 4.56 gears.

I bought it from ford last night. The cross pin and retaining bolt was $27 total. Not to bad I guess
