Ties the front suspension strut rod mounts together. Was Ford's solution to the Noise-Vibration-Harshness (NVH) problems in the early production Pinto and the StangII prototypes.

Be a lot better with it (or a substitute fabricated to fit) in there. Should also help handling to some degree, as it will help keep the lower control arms where they belong.

The good news is that every II ever built had one, so don't pay a lot for one. If I had any left, I'd send you one, but I have not been keeping them when I part cars.

It's the gold piece directly behind the engine crossmember. they can be a PITA to get access to to tighten the bolts.

Thank you very much....He said it keeps the front end from flexing side to side. We decided once the motor is in, were going to probably fab a piece to go around the headers. once that is done i may make some custom sub frame connectors.

Best tool I've found to get the damn thing out is a long handle flex-head 3/8's rachet. You can get bend the handle to where you can get more then 2 clicks at a time on the bolts. Just a personal observation.

Same here. Sux. Some of them you can get a 3/8 impact with an impact swivel socket on

3/8 air ratchet with swivel.

A "starter","V" or "U" wrench (all the same thing) works , if you have patience.

Brian, I wouldn't run a II without a cross member in place. I don't know what people are thinking, or not, when they discard this part.

No probably about it, make a part to go around the headers. It needs to be there.
