Crossmember question (AODE-T to T5 swap)

I think it's a different x-member, specific to the 5-spd, my swap kit came with one if I remember right. Sorry, been a while since i did mine. Maybe you could drill new holes in the frame rail for the x-member, get some bolts/nuts and make it work? godd luck

Well I did a search on here and on corral and everyone says it's the same crossmember on both cars.
Well, never mind then. i just looked under my car, nothing special, maybe try moving the brackets around, might be configured different then they're supposed to be. spin the x-member 180. just trying to help. again, good luck

I used that link for reference, it doesn't say amuch about the crossmember though, just that it can be used on the T5. Also 1/2 of that article is copied off an article on another site that says how to install a clutch.

well im not quit sure about the crossmembers being the same, but if they are and ur that far off make sure the tranny mount is bolted to the transmission correctly and you dont have it backwards.the trannymount bolts should be towards the rear of the car and the plate it bolts to has the bolt holes that actually secure the mount to the tranny in the front.just a thought

It looks to me like the trans mounts are different. Mine only has two bolt holes on it, and the ones I have seen for the T5 have four bolts holding it to the tranny, and another bracket piece with another two bolts.

dont mind me asking but where did u get the tranny from?also u are correct, the crossmember secures to the trannymount bushing with the 2 studs in the bushing, the trannymount bushing 2 bolts that bolt up to a plate which actually bolts to the tranny with 2 other bolts

I checked the ID of the tranny and it says it's from a 94 Mustang GT. The guy that sold it to me said it was from his 94 GT too so I'm pretty sure it's the right tranny.

The tranny mount seems to bolt up the same way as it did on the AOD-E, but it doesnt look exactly like the one in this pic

I circled the area that is different on my trans mount. I don't have that piece on it. All it has are two bolt holes and it bolts up to the tranny that way.

now i know what ur talkin about, 86 that piece u dont need it.thats funny u still have that on ur tranny its been a long time since ive seen that piece still on the trans.every 5liter ive worked on or have owned that piece is not their.i have confirmed w/ other sources and everyone says the same thing some stangs still got them and some dont.mine doesnt and i dont have any probs.
