Crower Cams for 2v, 3v, & 4v....

I had a problem with PTV contact with my stage 3's and it was only happening on one side - they were ground incorrectly, but once I got another cam, everything was fine. Definitely watch out for that. Otherwise they are pretty darn nice.

I know who John Mihovetz is, I wouldn't be surprised if he is being sponsored by Comp to come out and say something like that. I wouldn't put that behind John, he has done that before for Accufab.

if he is doing that he probaly could get sued if caught. this post is another reason to check any set of cams.

good heads up UM.

I re-read what I said and that is not exactly what I meant. I am not going to change it though. What I meant to say is:

I don't put much into what John Mihovetz or his right hand ass clown George Klass have to say. I remember the big Accufab BS those 2 put on over at MD. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't just some other BS hype from them.

I do agree that any cam should be checked before installing it. I have always said that. That is about all you can really take from John on that thread.

interesting. can you sum up the accufab thing for us. i don't go to MD much i must of missed this. :(

i don't know about UM and others but if this guy has made up stuff about accufab then why should i belive him about crowler.

I don't know guys. John Mihovetz is a cocky dude, but he's got reason to be! The guy builds some of the very fastest and most powerful mod motors on the planet. He holds more than a couple world records too. I'd say he's got a little more knowledge about said subject than the majority of us. Personally I know nothing about this Accufab story so I can't speculate on how it relates. I do know that I've read about more than a few guys who have had problems with the Crower cams in their 4v cars. Take it for what it's worth...

U.M.

Naaa, ModularFords is a good site. Alot of "famous" mustang guys post over there. Some of the best tech I have ever read has come from there. By FAR the best 03/04 Cobra forums on the net.

I never said ModularFords was not a good site. John Mihovetz is not a good person to be taking Tech from.

On the Accufab BS. Long story short.

John Mihovetz owns Accufab. He is a sponsored advertiser at MD. Releases 2V TB and plenums making claims of big RWHP gains using Accufab parts. I don't remember all of the numbers, the one that sticks in my head is a 10 RWHP gain on a 99+ GT with just an Accufab 70mm TB, no other mods. Other people, some big names questioned Mihovetz and Klass on these claims. Instead of answering the questions, they gave run arounds, such as we are the World's fastest modular car and know what we are talking about.

People were buying these parts, had problems with the TB's whistling and not making the power claimed and they started questioning Accufab. Mihovetz's answer was, we are the World's fastest modular car and run our parts, no problems. Accufab then whined and complained to MD admins that these people were out to destroy Accufab.

The point here is not to blindly take his word and buy comp instead of crower (which i originally thought)

I reread it, and it surely sounds to me like he is urging everyone to measure ANY cam they buy to avoid problems (although there is alot of crower bashing/comp praising)

This is what I took out of it.

EDIT

However, what bothers me after reading the ENTIRE thread is that he mentions he has built a 2000 hp car, and hes mentioned it about 15 times.

Give me a bunch of money I'll build you a 2000 HP car

exactly... speed/power = how much money you got.

I dont always just assume a guy is the mustang guru because he has built a few fast cars. it takes more than that.

You are correct, it does take a lot of money to build a 2000hp Modular engine, but can you name anyone who has done it other than Mihovitz? The man knows modular engines and knows how to get the power out of it

There are plenty of people who have spend big money on modulars who have yet to compete with Mihovitz, just ask Granatelli who gave up years ago.

Keep in mind the class he is running, those are the big boys of Mustang racing, and they all spend ungodly amounts of money to compete in that class.
