The cruse control doesn't shut off when I tap the breaks on my 2004GT. If I step on the breaks hard, then it shuts off and the gas peddle snaps back. If I step on the clutch, the cruse control shuts off as normal. The off button also works fine as does the decel button

What's up?

Your brake light switch may be malfunctioning.

Not only should Ford had put a cruise light in, they should have the cruise control buttons illuminate when the head lights are on. Pearl02.
