I know I'm probably going to get grief for this one but, how come somebody doesn't invent a center console piece that has a built in cup holder for a fox? Is it too much to ask to have a cold drink while your cruisin around that isnt in a bottle in the passenger seat? I think the console replacement cupholders or the plug and chug look cheap and dont match the interior design. I want someone to delete the console because I dont need it to hold tapes and mold a cup holder underneath in the console panel underneath the consoles orginal location. I know some of you people have the skills to mold something up with fiberglass, plastic, etc.

Tell me what you people think.

I'm on my third fox I know all about the seat and console cupholder. The part of the console in the back 68Torino where those slots for pens are. Somebody needs mold a spot there it wont interfer with the ebrake there.

The Console replacement piece from 50resto is to narrow it looks like a truck armrest or something and doesn't match the look of the interior. If this was made I wouldnt need to worry about spilling. Thats what lids were invented for.

that cup holder looks pretty good. i wish i would have gotten that one. i opted for the stupid plug and chug one that i ended up having to cut down so that it would sit flush with the console. i dont put any drinks in it...just change and stuff. yeah im one of those guys who drinks eats and smokes in his car and im not one of those guys who keeps my car super clean because its a daily driver and thats way too much work

Does that cup holder still latch to the bottom of the console like the original top would. You know, click closed?

lol... like the original top would... you mean yours worked at one point? weird..

umm.. long story short... no it doesn't click and doesn't have a clicking mechanism...

but my original didn't work anyway... and i really wanted a cupholder... so it wasn't a big deal...

im sure you could fabricate something to click if you wanted to.

Yep, mine has always clicked from the start in 93 I have replaced the black bottom piece once, they last longer as long as you push the button in when shutting so that there is less stress on the that piece. I have actually seen a company that is making the piece in aluminum or metal for a few more $'s that will last longer.

Yea, I don't think I would like that one if it doesn't click.. I have a plug and chug, but go through phases of using it and not using it.

I have put one of those sticky pads on the console top as kind of a coaster if I do put a drink between the seat and e-brake.

The ideal would be for someone to make a replaceble console top with the cup holder molded in, but I doubt anyone is going to do that for 13+ yrs old cars
