i'm a new mustang owner, and i'm new to this message board so bear with me...i have a '95 GT 'vert, and i'm planning on doing a H/C/I swap soon. I'm going to go with an edelbrock RPMII, AFR 165s and i have no idea what cam i'm going to use (definitely something bigger than stock). I've heard that the computers in the 94-95 5.0s are really crappy and make the engine idle really rough when you ad a bigger cam or do many mods to them. my question is, whats an easy fix for this? i've read some of the other threads on here and it seems most of you have tweecer units, would getting a tweecer setup cure this? do they add a lot of extra horsepower, enough to warrant a purchase? i basically just want to cure the rough idle (well, stop it before it happens :bang: ) but HP gains would be great as well. would getting a computer from an early 90's stang be easier and cheaper? what is involved with making that swap work? any help would be great.

Well for me I have a tfs-1 cam. Not the biggest tfs cam, but lumpy enough for a daily driven car(definitely more lopey then an e303). What cured most of the rough idle for me was simply making sure the idle (throttle body)was set (physically) where I wanted it to be(trying to get it to idle at 900rpm). Then by simply changing 3-4 idle scalars to achieve a 900rpm idle, the idle really smoothed out. It is smooth, but you will still have a cam that does move the idle around a bit and that is definitely normal and acceptable for daily driving.

I am sure there a more correct way to do this (measuring cfm and tuning where it is appropriate, but the above worked for me without getting technical:nice: )
