It's a little simpler than that.

Without tailpipes, you see the fugly gas tank. Who the hell wants to see that?

When I see a lx without tailpipes, I can't help but notice the ugly gas tank now clearly visible.

I wouldn't say it looks terrible, it just doesn't look anywhere near as good as some stainless tail pipes would look.

Agreed. I ran dumps on my lx for about a week i just couldnt stand the tone or look. the tails just scream lx 5.0.

That looks like an old suburban with duals to me, nothin beats an LX with some nice tails out the back. And the car above looks chince too. Especially with those cheap chrome tips, sorry. Im just bein brutally honest.
