There are 3 popular options out there...

Ed Curtis @ www.flowtechinduction.com

Jay Allen @ www.camshaftinnovations.com

Buddy Rawls @ http://wighat.com/fcr3/

They are all very knowledgeable.

I have gotten my AFR heads and custom camshaft from Ed and got exactly what I wanted. It was $325 for the "SAY"di camshaft, and he offers a billet for $100 more.

The others will do the very same for you as they did for me.

That dont mean others arnt good tho

In my opinion you dont need billet steel, a regular one will be fine

This is what pisses of a cam grinder I know, even though it's just your opinion.

Some may argue he just tries to upsell the billet core, but I sure appreciated it when I hit a piston and bent 6 or 7 valves and the cam just laughed at it.

I purchased everything I needed through Ed C. and was very pleased with the whole process start to finish. I am even more pleased with the results.

As for price, it will all depend on how radical you go with your cam.( ie.. you might need new springs, retainers, ect....)

Im sure any of the above mentioned guys will do you justice.
Good luck with your decision.

Y would the cam be damaged from piston to valve contact?....(Serous question im not being a smart ass)

It seems like the lifter and push rod would take the damage from that.....i mean the cam doesnt come near touching the valves,

Serious question, what is the lifter rolling on? The piston hit the valve, bent the valve, locked the springs and retainers, bend several pushrods, which put extreme pressure on the lifters and cam but the cam didn't break, so the lifter broke and the cam was just scraped. That last part would've been broke the cam if I had gotten a sadi core.

Plus, why skimp on the brain of the engine, valve train stability is what makes power and SADI cores can flex at higher rpms. I'm not taking credit for this knowledge, this is what Jay preaches to everyone, just thought I would share with you.

Let the flamin begin. People like you are what messes crap up for people who really want to learn. David(5spGT) and opal went with Ed Curtis and they speak for him. Now I get crap for speaking up for Jay. You're pathetic.

You asked a fairly naive question and I replied in a tone that would suit such a question, step by step so you could better understand it.

Just like you asked a serious question, so did I. I have never dealt with Ed and can't speak for him so your dealing with him is your business.

no one gave u any crap for speaking for jay, his cams may be Great and Im sure they are, hell they might even out preform others...idn.....that's not the point U took offense when i said i didn't think it was necessary to have a billet cam for some reason talking about "thats what pisses Cam grinders off" that's pathetic,

and talking about wanting to learn "IM NIEVE" for not know that can damage a cam so everone who dont understanf that is nieve right??? ......, u were the rude one not me

Ok I was rude, my bad, I guess.

I thought the lifter question was naive, especially since you're dishing out advice on cams and stating you don't think he needs a billet core without knowing his goals; rpm, et's, etc. But oh well, we learn something everyday.

You put an 's' on the statement I made. Double check it.

Not really man, I don't know nearly enough and I've got a ton to learn.

Hope this guy gets what he's looking for. Either of the professionals mentioned will get him there, I bet.

I can't speak highly enough about Ed Curtis -> and I was one of those people that thought Ed was just another Corral flavor of the month....I was wrong, way wrong. Best bet is to talk to him about your goals and discuss the overall combo with him.
