I like those headlights

Geez, Someone has to be the Old Man sitting on the Porch reminding 'you' to wear your rubbers ... and I don't mean Galoshes.

Our cars were wired for 55/60 watt lights, I guess the H4 bulb (not included for various reasons?) can be had in the 55/60, why would you?

The H4 comes in 'small' bulbs, but they also come in 85/100 watt and are reputed to come in the I_Want_These 100/150 watt version. That's between 2 and 3 times the amperage our wire systems were designed to carry. 30 years ago. !

The site suggests using an add on harness, for us it should be more than a mere 'suggestion'. Unless you like wire fires. Switches burning up, you know, the regular stuff that happens from over loads. Say goodbye to the ground wire ...

I think IIs with driving lights in place of turn signals look sweet. And these lights with the signals or running lights look cool. Whats the rubber?

The headlamp assembly has turn signals OR driving lights incorporated, not both.

Meaning you have to come up with one light or the other. Or mayhaps a bit of creative wirery using Chrystler resister blocks and relays.

Then you need to hope your town does not have a Sargent Stadanko or an Officer Krupke on the PD. I met a few and it's not hard to imagine the late night road side conversation .... Well, BoY!, Why didnchya dim yur lights? ... I did Officer .... Trn them laights on , BoyYY, ... Thems your LOW BEAMS?? Hit yur Haighs .... HMMM, thems some perty laights, didn't comeo0n this car, did they .... scribble scribble .... Now Hows a Bout your not usen them turn signals ... I did Officer ... Well, BoyY, Lets sea 'Em .... Nope. Turn sig-nails seem burnt out , just like yur runnen laights .... What Thait? Turn offen them heedlaights, BoyY ... Soes Wee're spose to look 'rectly inna the Blazen laight to see yur trn sig-nail. Hullo, Dispache, call cuz Billy Bobby and jhave him git his reker to NightMaher Road, Oh, And call the Mayor (looking back at you) ... Tell th Maayor he c'n maile his boat payment ....

And in this day where I've seen license plates painted to match the car .... Who knows what will get you pulled over these days.

Point to the fiction is, there are specs and laws for headlamps, turn signals and running lights. After seeing some things that are on the road part of me wonders if anything matters, but another part of me knows it matters if 'they' want to make it matter.

Wear you rubbers .... carry a spare and have a supply of Slick-Um.


Point of the installation itself is installing these lights really isn't a 10 minute job and will cost more than the cost of lights and bulbs (sold separately).

Oh yeah, the bulb sold separately .... if they supplied any size of light and there was any kind of fire they could be held liable.

I'm not sure what your point is. I have 80/100 bulbs in my MII. I put in two relays, one for low beams and one for high beams. Came off the solenoid for power and used the stock wires to trigger the relays. I deleted the turn signals from the grill and put small motorcycle turn signals under the bumper floating in the valance opening. I would like to get the hot rod headlights with the built in turn signal but they are out of my price range. I have about $50 total in my headlights from Pomona Swap Meet. I have run H4's in every car I have owned, probably 20-25 sets now. I have never been hassled by the cops for them. Stuck for headlights too low in a couple of VW's, but that's it. With all the new cars out with super bright white, blue, pink zenon, LED and kryptonite headlights, cops don't care about old cars anymore.
