I had an idea to turn NFL billiard balls into shift knobs, a Seahawks for me and a Raiders for my friend up in Portland, OR.
I found someone a few months ago to drill the ball, and insert a threaded piece with the correct thread size.
Bruce Roosa, owner of www.koolknobs.com .

Initially I used the washer/nut method to hold the boot up under the knob.
After working with Bruce he designed an adapter that hold the boot up, but not flush with the knob.
I am very happy with the results.
Here are a few pic's after the adapter.

Now if my friend gets off his lazy *** and takes pic's of the sweet looking Raiders knob I had made for him, I would be even happier.
His is a marbled silver with the black and white Raiders shield.

$25.00 for the ball on ebay, $25.00 to have it threaded, adapter was free since I helped design it.
I figure $60.00 for a one of a kind knob.

That's not bad for a custom fabrication.

I finally drove up to Portland a took a pic myself.
Not the clearest image but you can see it well enough.
I think it looks great in his car.
He still needs to put the adapter on.
