Custom subframe

Ok, I know some fans put together their own subframes.
No big deal, right.

Well, I've been to all hardware stores in the area.
They just don't have anything that could be used.


Where do the custom subframe guys get their
"custom metal"????

Any industrial metal suppliers has what you need. 1 x 2 x .125" rectangle tubing in 20' sticks and 1.5 x 1.5 angle for the seat braces in 20' sticks. Cut it, form it,and weld it on.

Had a friend of mine make a pair out of 2X2 square steel. It was kind of ghetto but I guess it worked.

Just get some off of ebay, save the hastle, there pretty good pricing too.

If you live in an area with shipyards, boatyards or heavy industrial many of these places have tons of scrap laying around, I get scrap from them to build utility trailers occasionally.

You can get mid length uncoated ones for like 45 bucks with seat braces and mounting hardware....why bother fabbing? More effort than it is worth.
