I was wondering if it is possible to cut 2 of the 4 cats out of the stock H-pipe? Has anyone done this?

It's easier just spending $150 on a new off-road midpipe.

Buy the midpipe. Besides, it looks like there would be too many bends.

Yeah, you're better off with a new piece.

Don't forget to get the MIL eliminators or get a tuner.

Good luck.

BUT if your broke as sh** and you have a hook up that can weld it barley makes a differnce, just a little louder, but like they all said just buy a new mid pipe and save the one you have now in case you need it for smog or warrenty purposes....just my 2 cents

after i got my car i had 2 of the cats removed. it was only 60 bucks and i could definately tell a difference. cost less than an aftermarket piece too. but now i'm getting an offroad H so it doesn't matter. i would just save up and get a new midpipe like everyone else is saying

keep the stock H-pipe intact, you never know when you may need it.

hell you can get a few bucks for the cats anyway. stock h pipes are not cheap if you need to replace them. much more money than any aftermarket piece. used o/r x and h pipes can be had for 60-100 all day long. I have a bbk sitting in the closet at home off of my 01 and i had another mac x for a while and cut it up for something
