Cut springs or buy cheap lowering springs on ebay?

I had "c" springs in my 98 and they were perfect. Check out the pictures of my 98 in my signature. (Sold 98)
Am I going to have to completely remove the springs to cut them? I have the car jacked up now and was about to remove the wheel..but when I got to looking I dont think the springs uncompressed as much as the last car that I cut them on...not sure what I need to do here..I have the grinder and cutting wheels ready to go...just trying to figure out a safe way to cut them without it blowing the coil out in my face lol..

Yes, you have to completely remove the springs from the car. If you really want to be safe, tie the spring to the car when you are decompressing it.

Yeah I was lookign on mustangworld.com at the how to they did on removing springs with no compressor and it jsut seems like a lot of work and I am not sure I have enough time..most of the time I have cut the springs while on the car
Well I got to thinking about all that will be involved in removing these springs with the time limit I am on and I guess I will jsut leave it with the 4x4 look...I figure If I am going to do all this mess I might as well be installing a set of lowering springs...I hate being so broke that even the maxspeed springs are to far out of reach..hopefully soon I will have the money and will post pics if I ever get it out of the air heh

I cut mine about a year ago. I took one full coil and have no C/C plates and no uneven wear on the tires. The key to getting out the springs without the compressor tool is the remove the lower shock bolts and let the rear hang, and remove the top bolt on the struts so the a-arms hang. I bought some springs off Ebay and the bounce?ricey feel was bad. I'm glad I cut mine.
Well I think we are going to try again sunday morning when I have all day to work on it..I jsut got to aggrivated and was to short on time the other day so I think I will do it anyways..will post pics when I do but I may rent a spring comressor tmrw so I wont have to do so much work

Hey I rented the comp. that Autozone has and it was more of a pain in the A$$. It is just as easy to unbolt the shocks and struts. I changed my struts today and they were very easy to do. It is a shame people pay others to do that kind of work. Good luck.

That spring should not bounce out. You are going to be suprised, they are not compressed too much especially since they will have no load on them.
Dude that looks sick..I lvoe that look but I JUST bought these new tires 2 days after I bought the car bc the old ones were shot so the las thing I want is to eat the tires up..I guess about 1 to 1 and a quater is the most I should go but the play by play would be great..to bad I cant cut them on the car..did my old car in less than an hour
did you have any issues with bottoming out or scraping? That looks pretty damn low now that I look closely lol
