i hate the honeycomb on my o1gt. i took it out and now my scoop wants to fly off. i want to cut a hole in my hood to, stop the problem, increase the aerodynamics and cool the plentium for hopefully increased hp. my only frear is rain and electrical. will n e thing get wet and hurt it? im in san jose CA where rain is rare but please let me know what you guys think. thanks!

Oh boy.
The honeycomb trim was there for a reason. You're not going to get better aerodynamics. In fact, you're going to be producing quite a bit more drag. Second, "cooling the plenum" isn't going to do squat as far as increasing HP.
Personally, I think you should put the honeycomb trim back in. Cutting the hood is a really bad idea.....but its your car.

Your engine is slanted up slightly so rain is no going to hurt it, it will just run off to the ground
, so air wouldn't hurt it but, yea, w/that type of hood scoop you are going to create some drag, but so does driving with the windows down, your not trying to build a drag car are ya. I say, and this is my opinion

If what you want is a cowl hood, why don't you just bypass the whole cutting a hole in a perfectly good hood and buy the cowl hood you want? Then, you can sell your hood to help offset the price of the new one.

This. It looks like crap when people modify stock hoods. Buy a fiberglass cowl hood and do it up right... save the front end weight, which is more of a benefit than the "cowl cooling". Then sell the stocker.

IMHO, the only time one should cut an opening into the factory hood, is to create said opening for a shaker kit.

Buy the cowl, sell yours on ebay/craigs list and now you are ready for a tork tech kit. That's my goal anyway. Cutting a hole in your hood rlaugh => fast and the furious gone wrong.
