Cutting My Exhaust

If I Cut My Pipes Real Short If That Would Make My Car Louder. I Took Off The Mufflers So I Could Take Off A Few Feet Of Pipe. Also Would That Make My Car Not Pass Smog In California Too?

first of all why? second I doubt you'll pass because you'll have some high decibals and might affect smog? And your car will start reaking of exhaust gasses. Just my .02

mufflers will not affect smog readings,but it will be too loud.You must be kinda young because I went through that stage too If you put dumps after the muffler,it will be louder,but will smell ike crap in the car at a stop from all the gasses entering the interior.

well the smell i am not too worried about, i went through the biggest hastle getting it smogged because of my cold air intake. i dont have mufflers on it now so i would just dump it about where they would be. how much would this cost. or can i do it myself if i know how to weld?

lol, you did not go through a hassel becasue of a CAI, a CAI is a worthless does nothing mod.

All you need for dumps is a hack saw and know how to weld. You cut the pipes after the cats for you if you want to pass emissions (then again you'll probably fail for doing this anyways) then cut the mufflers off the pipes you ust cut off and weld them to the end of the remaining pipe, then put a turndown or something after the muffler so it doesn't go straight out.

I have dumps and I'm putting pipes out the back cause it smells like ****. I love the sound but damn the smell.
