Paint and Body Cutting Underside cowl hood supports for clearance ?

Hello , i have some hood clearance issues with my trickflow intake and 1" spacer i was wondering if it's safe to cut the supports under my cowl hood ? Thanks see the picture

I've done it on a factory hood before without any repercussions but never did it on a metal cowl induction hood before. I'm assuming your hood is metal since I've never seen a fiberglass hood have supports like that. If it were me I'd give it a shot
