I,m throwing my edelbrock performer heads on soon and was wondering if anyone knew if the bolts used the same torque spec as the stock heads. i am using ARP bolts.
well does anything that comes with the papers say differently? I'd check on edelbrock and all the papers to make sure.. if you see nothing then go with stock
My paperwork with my performer rpms recommends that you should torque the bolts to 70ftlbs in three or four steps following the factory tightening sequence(working from the inside bolts outward) and then go back and torque the top bolts(long bolts) to 80ftlbs. They also recommend a re-torque after initial startup and a 2-3 hour cooldown.
