Cylinder Head Swap

Hey All,

Can anyone refer me to a cylinder head walk through posted on the web. I have taken a long weekend from work specifically to do this, and I need a little guidance.

BTW: A little backround: Its obvious to me that I have a head gasket leak. I have aquired some gt40 heads off of a 94 cobra with the 1.7 roller rockers, mounts, and rods ( or whatever they are called.) The heads have been planned and are ready for bolt on. I know I will need some new valve covers, gaskets, and appropriate bolts, but is there anything else I am missing. Please, ANY help at all would be greatly apprecited.

Pick up a chilton or Haynes. Those have pretty good procedures in them. Use the Edelbrock intake install guide in the FAQ sheet above to do the intake. The heads are easy. Just make sure to drain the antifreeze out of the block by removing the two plugs in each side.

Iv'e done an intake swap already and am familiar with the procedure. I actually printed the out intake install guide walk through out and used it as a guide when doing it (check out my cardomain page to see the before and after.) I have not however been able to find a good head swap walk through.
I have both the hayes & chilton manual. I even have the red mechanics manual for our cars, but was wondering if anyone posted anything even better on the web (The more pictures, the better.)

You might be able to find something on corral if you search in the 5.8/5.0 engine tech section. Also, you'll need Fel-Pro 1415 (exhaust), Fel-Pro 1250 (intake), Fel-Pro 1645 (valve cover), ARP head bolts, and that should be about it. The only thing you'll need special is a T-50 torx bit to get the tensioner pulley off and a power steering pump pulley puller, so that you can get the bolt out from behind the pulley.
