D-1SC installed!

Nice numbers!!

So I’m assuming from your sig that you’re running VT stage 2 N/A cams. With those same cams and stock heads my buddy made 443rwhp and 400ftlbs at 9lbs of boost. This was with an intercooled Vortech V1. I guess those N/A cams respond well to boost.

It was a bumpy ride, but my D-1SC is finally installed, and she got tuned by Manny at HPP this afternoon. She put down 473 RWHP and 422 RWTQ. That's a little more than I was trying to get, and considering that my shortblock is stock I'm going to have to be a little gentle. :nice:

Here's my dyno sheet:

So you are running a blower with stage II N/A cams! That is some sweet numbers :nice:.Maybe i don't have to swap out my VT/Cushman stage II N/A cams after all do get blown LOL!

Congrats!!

I've never bought into the whole blower cams thing. My understanding is that a car that makes more power N/A will make more power with forced induction. My friend has a D-1SC on his TransAm, and he had the same experience. Everyone said he got unusually good numbers for the amount of boost he's getting, and we think it's because of his N/A cam.

Looks like you have a bit of a lean tip-in. You might have your tuner adjust your intake manifold volume in the tune or another transient modifier value. A smaller value for the intake manifold volume should help. Result should be better throttle responce.

Nice numbers, though! :nice:

Yeah, when I shift the fuel pressure drops while I'm off the throttle, then it doesn't quite get back high enough before I'm on the gas again. I sometimes get a little hiccup before the pressure returns. It's very brief, but it's annoying.

I'm heading back up to see the tuner tomorrow. I'll see what he says about it. I think the real solution is to go to a return-style fuel system.

yes, that is very high for that amount of boost. i run 15 psi and only make a 30 more hp and 20 more tq. i have stage 1 miled blower cams. however, im not tuned quite right yet either. i am going stage 2 mph blower cam this summer....we will see how that effects things.

I would jack that rev limiter up. You don't want to hit that while in boost.

The reason they make blower cams is because NA cams have a very big overlap and you lose alot of boost/a/f mixture. If you put Blower cams in there You would make alot more power.

My buddys car had a built block (same CR as stock) hand ported heads, CMS stage 2.5 blower cams with a D1-sc on 10 lbs made 535rwhp. Would have made over 550 on 10lbs but his litte gt40 pump and KB boost a pump werent up to the task. Had to shut down at 5600rpms.
