Im looking for a new shifter and i am concerned that the MGW one i want wont work with my D&D viper spec t56. anyone out there know if it will work. MGW offers a shifter for 2003-2004 cobras but my car is a 1995 mustang gt so i dont know if it will work. i finally have some $$ and it is burning a hole in my pocket, i want to get something for my car before i spend it all at the bar-please help!

i think that the t56 comes in alot of different vairations for shifter locations so it should work, just dont know if it will fit right. I would email MGW and see if they have any info on it. OR i would email D&D and see what they recomend.

just bought the t56 shifter for an 03-04 cobra. i called d&d and thats what they told me to get. got the 6-speed shifter knob in silver as well. it was like $235 w/ shipping, should be here by tuesday. I got it sent to the office that i am working at instead of my house. i figure getting car parts delivered to the office is like getting flowers delivered to your office if your a chick- F'n sweet!
if anyone wants to know if i like/dislike the shifter reply to this thread or even pm me. i had a tri-axe for my t5 before i broke it at the track. no more broken trany's for this mustanger thanks d&d!
thanks for the help

i thought your car was for sale jk. my two favorite mods to my car so far are my trany and my 13in brembo's w/ 4piston calipers. the trany is killer, pretty much indestructable. ive put it through some serious use (and abuse) and its holding together perfectly. it wasnt cheap $3k, but im tellin ya, if you want to get into some serious hp/tq later down the road this is the trany to have. i have 3.73 gears out back and at 100mph my engine turns at about 2500rpm in 6th gear. 4.10's would probably be better for the street/strip but i love going fast on the highways so i couldnt be happier.
start saving those pennies if you want one, you wont be dissapointed

I want the D&D T56 for my Mustang.

Are you running subframe connectors? Did you do the T56 swap yourself? What are areas to look out for?

BTW, because dragracing is in the blood, I plan on running 4.30s out back with the close ratio T56.

(2000 RPM @ 70mph, not too bad)

i havnt gotten to my suspension yet, saving up for a mm or griggs full kit. i havnt ran into any problems, i bought everything from d&d. if you have a aluminum drive shaft you can just have it shortened rather than buy one from d&d but i didnt do that, i bought a new one from them along with the kit. i have had it for about a year and like i said before, i love it! btw the trany needs a new cross member so i dont know what that would do if you had subframe connectors. someone else will have to chime in to answer that question.
