Daily drivers, what do you have?

I've been eyeballing some vipers as well. I was going to jump on a 99 ACR when the guy that was going to buy my vette decided to get a ZR-1 instead, so needless to say I lost that chance. You looking for an RT-10 or GTS?

RT-10. Would love a '92, but they cant be found. People that have 'em are not selling.

Yuck 1st Gen Viper = UPS diesel truck. You can get really good deals on RT-10's from the late 90's. As you know I like roofs so my pick is the GTS, but for the past 6 months or so I've been toying with the idea of buying factory 5's new GTM. Factory 5, is 15 from where I live and I go there every now and then to look at their machines... and the GTM looks really nice. I already have the corvette as a donor I just dont know how long it would take me to build it!

My 04 Mystichrome Cobra. I originally bought the 93 for daily use but I just love driving my Cobra too much! Now that I moved to Lacey I've been putting 1/4 the amount of miles on the Cobra so it makes it that much easier to drive it everyday. Less than 10 miles to work now instead of the 42 I was driving before. Next year I'll be on DR's for sure!

I have been very happy with my 05' Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7L hemi and quadradrive II system. Very practical and peppy- comes with a lot of cool equipment if you get it loaded. the 4 wheel drive system will get you through almost anything.

My daily driver is an '06 Scion xB. Yeah, I never thought I would like a 108hp toaster on wheels, but I am very impressed with that car. Lots of space! From outside it seems like a small car, but inside, with everything being so verticle, it feels very roomy. Put the back seats down and you can haul lots of stuff, and there is plenty of leg room in the back seat with the front seats all the way back. I get a bit over 30mpg around the city, around 300 miles per tank. They are supposed to last for 400,000 miles. Base price is 14K, with all the power stuff and a/c standard. You just pick the accessories you want, although they add up quick. Highly reccommend at least taking a look at one. Make sure to get a stick, though. The automatic was a real dog compared to the stick version.

I either drive an E38 or a Ranger. Have you thought of a ML500? Good in the snow and good for the show for your clients.
You got good taste in cars but the Benz is a little out of my price range, as for the E38, my dad still drives the 740i, guess I could buy him a beater and take that one :D

I agree Even though it hurts tremendously to say it:D dodge does have the best diesel out there:nice:
Got a couple of friends over here that have diesel trucks and they all complain about the dodge, yes nice engine but wrapped in mopar junk. They all recomend the Duramax, and even though I like it, its still not my thing.

My DD is my 02 Stang. Have had no problems in snow or ice with no chains, studs, or traction tires. Helps to know how to drive in it, and I have had more than my share of practice.
lol pathetic... what does knowing how to drive in the snow is going to help when you dont have any traction??? And what kind of snow have you seen? TV?

I've looked at those as well, but I've been waiting for BMW to come out with their diesel SUV's to the states. Heard its some time in 07.

The dodge isnt the most comfortable truck, but it'll last the longest, the durmax's have a nice cabin, and there a great motor untill you start modding em, its allmost mandatory to yank the head and have it o-ringed before any modifications are done :nonono: and then you have the typical chevy frontend rebuild every 50k miles. fords... the 7.3's powerstrokes are great (overpriced)... 6.0's I could write a book on their problems. The doges weak link is the fuel system, wich isnt much of a problem if you do a simple upgrade before anything starts going bad... As an example, we've got 3 les schwab crewcab 2wd dually pull trucks to pull our show trailers around with... one ford, one dodge, and one chevy, there all 03's all diesels and all have the same options and allmost all of them have 300k miles on them now. The ford will randomly die for no reason, its had electrical problems since day 1. The duramax is now on its 2nd engine and 5th set of o-ringed heads, The dodge has had a frontend rebuild and thats it... :D that helped make up my mine when I was choosing since I'm neither brand nor make loyal ;)

Get a huge SUV! That's my next daily driver. Good for packign clients in luxury, good for crash test results, good for foul weather, 4x4 fun, and of course the god complex for driving a bigger vehicle.

Plus a few of these huge suv's on the used market already lost their value significantly. So you can jump into them relatively cheap.

I have been very happy with my 05 f150. The gas mileage could be better, but it serves the purpose.

This is why I have it:

cps. Its always the cps. Even when it isnt the cps, it still needs to be changed.

Other than that the 7.3's were sweet- the 6.0L, I agree- suck:notnice: . Cant get too mod happy with the 6.0L, whereas the 7.3's were pretty detuned to start with.

I know Cummins is the ****nit as far as diesel engines go, but after sitting in a Dodge and a Chev truck- gimme a Ford any day!

yea the fords deffinately have the better interior out of the 3 :D I would have liked to get one of the 7.3's but all the ones in my price range had twice the miles as the dodges for the same price :(

My DD is a 2004 Crown Victoria LX Sport. Basically a cop car with a leather interior and a floor shift. Hauls four people like you're in your living room. Has a trunk big enough to carry a 40" TV in the box and gets 25 mpg on the highway and 17 around town.

Thats weird, I've been browsing the diesel boards and most seem to prefer the duramax. If I were to go with a truck I would go powerstroke anyhow, I can get those real cheap now <$15K. But one of the concerns is the gas mileage, I'm going to rack up a lot of miles driving back and forth so if I can get the "in town" mileage in the 20's it would be awesome. I do like the idea of an extended cab diesel pickup though.
