I was wondering how much of a difference it makes in the handling of your cars without the swaybar. Also like to know about body roll.

Ever driven a boat on the water???

Ok...so that's a little exaggeration, but I took mine off to go to the track. It was a 40 mile drive and I was floating all over the place any time I had to switch lanes, turn etc... Just did not have that "tight" feeling, everything was loose. A friend in front of me said he could noticably see my car body-rolling whenever I changed lanes etc...

I put it back on right after I got back from the track.

Of course there are the guys that drive around all the time without one and don't think twice about it.

BTW...it did make a very big difference at the track when it came to launching and weight transfer.

I ran my car awhile wiothout the sway bar. I noticed the body roll from the first time I drove it. I juts recently put it back on. big difference in curves or any type of turning.

I had mine off for a little while and it damn near scared me the first time I went around a turn... it felt like the nose was going to scrape the ground and the rear end was going to lift off of it!!! I actually hooked up worse with it off. I may try removing it again this spring for a few 1/4 passes, mainly for weight loss.

I took mine off a week ago just for S&G's and I didn't notice any difference at all. Maybe that's becuase I'm still running all stock original suspension though Still nose dives like my old Bonneville!

if you wanted to keep the stock STB with an aftermarket intake could you just bring it to a welder and have them extend the front bar?

the drivers side of the intake is also in the way of the STB... I've allready tried to figure out a way to make it work but for the hastle and still probably wont work, I'd just go with an aftermarket one.

you know what it did to mine.........I was thinking of putting it back on,but dont feel like fooling with it...........got use to the way it handles now....if new shocks/struts dont fix the body roll I most defianlty will put it back on.

I've been driving without my sway bar for eight months now. there is a difference, but after a while, you'll eventually, get use to it. Im actually getting an aftermarket sway bar soon, I want some tighter turns.

i think you guys are in the wrong thread. the strut tower brace (which is what you see above the stock gt intake) has nothing to do with the sway bar (which is under the engine).
