Alright.......what is the deal with the rear sway bar. Mine broke..I weld it..two days later it breaks again...I go to the dealer...He laughs and says, "popular item..that will be $117." Bull..to break again..Where can I get a GOOD, thicker rear sway bar for a 95 GT at reasonable price?

Order one or search ebay & junkyards for a Cobra rear sway bar. The Cobra rear swaybar has a bit more beef on it.

The rear sway bar design changed (for the better) in either '97 or '98. Go see if they have a different PN, or possibly the better of the two might be the only one available.

Get the Steeda one! The cobra ones are pretty beefy but I've broken two in 3 years.

Yeah, just get the steeda one. I've never heard a complaint from it and most of the guys that break their's get that one. As you now know, you can't weld the stock one as its spring steel and will almost always re-break fairly quick. It is a VERY common problem.

How about roush?

The Steeda one looks good and is only $129. That is a pretty good price. Anyone ever tried a Roush Rear Sway Bar?
Check out this one (it is only $73.50):

You better knock on wood.... they fail right where the "tube" becomes flat where it bolts to the LCA. It is VERY common.

They were breaking back in 94 when the cars were new. My buddy broke his in an AutoX event. I went to Steeda and bought there adjustable rear sway bar for $99. So now I have two sway bars out back. It took pressure of the stock unit.

i have asked this question before, but i have never really gotten a definitive answer.

if you have aftermarket control arms, should you have a swap bar? i have bbk control arms and no sway bar ... should i have a sway bar too?

Yes, the control arms can not control body roll like a sway bar.

My stock sway bar snapped right at the mounting point on the passenger side. I put an Eibach one on there and haven't had a problem since.

I installed a new sway bar yesterday. I ordered the Suspension Techniques sway bar out of Summit. $114 shiped, arived in two days. It's thicker, stronger, and a bit heavier than stock. Install was easy.

I TOOK THE DIVE!

I went ahead and ordered the cobra one from Ford. Wasn't too bad at $122 and no shipping (just had to pay taxes). It is 25mm. Next day delivery isnt too bad either.

Thanks...
