Dang AN fittings and hose!!

I bought some braided line a while ago and just recently bought Earls fittings for a tranny cooler. I guess I have Aeroquip Teflon braided hose with mostly Earls fittings and one Aeroquip fitting. The guy at Aeroquip say the teflon hose doesn't use the standard aluminum AN fittings and wont work at all. I put an aluminum fitting on to check and it holds a vacuum just fine. I dont really have any other way to test it. Anyone have any experience with the teflon hose? Can I use the normal fittings?

The teflon hose is usually for brake line applications and uses steel fittings.I dont know if it will hold up with the alum. fitting or not. What are you using it for?

The teflon inner braided lines require a special crimping machine to get the ends to seal. I believe the compression of the standard aluminum ends with split the teflon inner and you will leaks at the fittings. Also, IIRC, the teflon bore is not compatible with oil or trans fluid.
