I just put a new switch in my '91. Now my headlights and blinkers wont work, they did before. I can pull back on the flash to pass the headlights light up, also, the parking lights work, BUT NO HEADLIGHTS. grrrrrr. Whats up with that?

By the way, its a brand new Ford switch, I checked the part numbers and thats correct.

The lights dont run through the ignition switch. That is why they work with the ignition off. The blinkers do run through it. You prolly already knew this, but its most likely something you did in there that messed them up. I would take it back apart and make sure all of you connections are secure, especially the one for the multi-funtion (blinker switch).Check to make sure the fuse isnt blown first. Do your hazards work?

Yeah, I got the headlights to work, a wire had popped off the headlight switch, the hazards work, but still no blinkers.

double check the wiring in the multi function switch. it is in the vicinity of where you were working and the wires pop out of the connector if you breathe on them. i had the red/? wire come out of the connector and had no low or high beams awhile back. i had not even been in there. if not that, check for continuity in the M.F switch when you hit the signal. they are about 80 bucks.
good luck.

i should have been more complete.
the example i gave was my experience with the beams not working, but your turn signals work through the M.F. switch and the same principles apply. very good probability that a wire came loose. if not, it may the turn signal switch itself. in any case, getting access to the switches' connectors is the best way i know to troubleshoot.
only takes a minute to get access to the connectors.
good luck.

Is your hazard flasher switch unplugged? check it. I had the same prob and the hazard switch was unplugged cause I had the instrument cluster housing off. Plugged it in and it works like a champ.
