Dang! I'm a little shocked...

Well I finally got my '87 4 banger. Let me tell you this ain't like the little 2.3 that I had in my '92 Ranger. (both were teh 4 plug head btw) This little thing has some pep in its step. It aint no v8 by no means but it really surprises me.

Just thought I would share my little surprise with yall.

im suprised by your suprise. Rather im suprised at your suprise do the 2.3 n/a not being much of a suprising in a good way suprise.

haha, thats a new one. The engine isn't strong with only 105hp, but it puts out descent torque in the regular driving rpms. That helps it feel a little peppier. Try a 2.3T swap

Shame shame Bhuff you should know better its 88hp Now for the turbo swap Im going to give that a shot myself

Yeah the n/a 2.3's are good in the first 3 gears or so, it's just when you're trying to pass somebody or you take it on the highway that they tend to suck.

Mine feels zippy till I get on the highway and have to get a head start to make it up a hill

(To reach the top and still be at a decent speed)

Mine will run right up a hill-no problem.
