So i took the lower rad hose off because my timing cover gasket was leaking a little and im installing a new one and drained it into this brand new bucket...after it settle overnight i see all this particulate? I have a fluidyne aluminum radiator and its the original block if that matters...and i flush it out with distilled water whenever i take it out. And use prestone 50/50 premixed... Last year i installed new heads and sucked out the old coolant and refilled with new...so wondering if its just some sealant residue etc? I see no signs of it mixing with my oil etc.

Thanks

Does the car sit like all winter? Have you driven it much since you put the radiator in?
if I had to make a guess I'd say sediment from the old block, just put some new in an ride it.

Yeah, these cars are old. The block has had years of old coolant through it. Its nothing to worry about.

Ive had the radiator for a couple years but ive had it out a few times and i always rinse that out with distilled water just to flush it while its out and i put about 500 miles a year on the car.

It's normal, just all the crud that has built up in your engine over the years. Mine was really bad when I first bought the car, but over the last eight years i have probably drained the coolant 5 or 6 times for various reasons. It gets cleaner each time.

your heater cross over tube is probably rusted to hell lol mine was and it just keeps dumping rust particles in my rad fluid... best thing to do is replace that heater core cross over tube..
