Tonight while driving home my dash lights went out all of a sudden. The warning lights and headlights are fine. The dome light and glove box lights are also fine. I checked the fuses and didn't find any of them blown. It is hard to believe that all the bulbs have blown at once along with the climate control light. Has anyone experienced this problem and if so please advise.

will they come back on if you wiggle the headlight knob?
try that.
if the do,you might need a new headlight switch.
maybe a new harness connector behind it aswell.

Your switch's connector might be starting to melt as well. IIRC the dimmer wire is near a loaded item. If the plastic starts to distort, it could pull the dimmer lead out or cause an issue with connectivity.

If you get the connector locally, note that it will probably be for a pickup truck (the one I got that finally worked was for a Bronco IIRC). The one listed for a Mustang was a mile off. IIRC the one that I used was a Standard Brand S-607

Okay guys, here is what I found. The switch and harness are both damaged.
Terminal B22 on the switch is burned pretty bad. See attachments. Thanks a million for all the help. 225,000 miles and still riding strong!!!

mine did that exact thing last year. got the sw and pigtail from A.Z. or Oreillys.
when I replaced the connector i was able to push out the wires and reinstall them back into the new connector.(no splicing) Only do 1 wire at a time.
Bosco also made a good point. if your dash lights are out so are your tail lights.

I purchased a new connector (harness) from Ford and the switch from Napa Auto Parts. I followed the suggestion of Desertcox05 and pushed out the wires one at a time on the damaged connector and installed them into the new connector. Everything works fine. Thanks Again!!!

The dash lights can be out without the tail lights being out. They're on different circuits but have the same source.
