This is the rectangulsr shaped padded piece of trim just above the glove box.It goes along the very front portion of the dash...just along the edge of what one would call the dashboard shelf. The left side of this piece stops right at the 2 air vents above the A/C controls. And ends at the passenger side vent.

What I want to know is,where can I get another one of these trim pieces? 50resto don't seem to have any listing for such a piece.I would really like to keep the interior of this car looking on top shape and this piece is doing what the center console armrest pad normally does......padding is stretching out the side edge from the sun etc.....Can't be pushed back in.

Yeah, I called 5.0Resto about those and they are completely obsolete from Ford and no repops in the near future. That I know of, right now your only solutions are used or having the existing one repaired. I plan on taking mine to an upholstery shop when I start my interior project.

You could just get one without padding. I got one from a SVO/GT 82-86 Stang or RS Capri. Also if you have pick a parts you can just make it a day and hit th local yards, you may luck out and find one in good shape and just paint it to match.

Not sure if you are thinking of the right part, but i beleive the peice he is talking about is specific to 87-93 dashes only. I don't beleive the 4-eye cars have anything that would bolt up to the newer dash

You're right. I assumed that because you sadi LMR did not have the pad you were talking about 79-86 stangs and Capris. I have the latest LMR rag and it shows that pad you are refering to on 97-93 Fox Stangs. Not sure why they said they dont have them any more.

I have VOL 7 and on page 10.

Maybe they no longer have them then. hmmmm

I dunno, but that pad is a HUGE PITA to remove with the dash in place unless you have thin girly arms

I ended up recovering mine with some black vinyl I got at a fabric store. I used the spray 3M upholstry adhesive and was able to stretch it and secure it tightly on the back side until it dried. After cutting the extra from the back and the center vent hole, it looks pretty good for an investment of less than $10. Also redid the armrest cover at the same time. That was a bit harder to get stretched, but it came out pretty good.

5.0 resto carried that part ,but as mention above they(ford) no longer makes them.
Ebay would be the best choice for a part like that i was watching one yesterday but was having to much fun removing the 4cyl out of my coupe that i lost the bid..
I was bidding on one with the a/c vents in oem black...went for 60.00 bucs the pad alone was 75 new when resto would offer it so the price it went for was a good one IMO.
The one in my hatch i redid in myself with some suade ..
