Hello I am new at this so sorry if it sounds like a dumb question.

I have a 65 coupe with a hacked up radio section.

I see radio dash repair kits. Metal ones and plastic ones. my question is: is the metal repair kit supposed to be welded into the radio spot? or does it just sit on top of that section?

i see people selling this metal plate but not explaining how to use it?

is the plastic one just painted and put over top? if so how is it held there.

Thanks

i would get the metal one. it can be installed over the opening without welding. it just depends on how much work you want to do. if you want a factory look then weld it, otherwise you can epoxy it in place.
