I know that they stamp the block w/ a letter/number combo when it rolls off the line. And I know that those numbers tell you the year and such. My question is where on my block do I look for this stamp and how do I interpret it once I find it? Thanks for your Help.

Edit* The reason I ask is my car started out life as a four cylinder and now has v8 (mass air).

I dunno exactly where its cast but it pretty much goes the first letter is the decade E=1980's F=1990's and so on and the second number is the year within that decade. So like gt40p heads are F77E if i remember right so that means they're from '97. But the thing is it doesnt tell you the exact year only the first year for that design.
