does any one know how to disable the factory daytime running lights in a 91 mustang? I remember on my 95 there was a plug you could disconnect behind the left front wheel well that did it but then the ebrake light and highbeam light on the dash didn't work. but i would like to disable them with avioding the brake/highbeam dash lights not working. any help is appreciated. my 87 and old 91 never had drl, at least that worked anyways, but this 91 does and i would like to be able to run just my park lights

DRL, must be a Canadian car. No guess how to disable, but I would assume you could compare a Canadian wiring to US wiring on the wiring diagram. Should be clearly marked on the wiring diagram, I don't know. I could look it up, but my service manual is out at my buds house. Anyway, if you can find the difference it would likely be easy enough to find what to cut/splice to correct this.

Ummm.....he's lives in Canada. J/K

There should be controler box that turns the lights on when the car is turned on. Remove that from the system and you will probably be all set. not sure the process.

I would simply rewire the headlights with relays and make the dash switch run the relay. It'd be REALLY easy. I mean REALLY easy.

Aren't day-time running lights required by law in Canada?

Unplug the DRL module, which is located in the driver's side fender, close
to were the horn is. The connector is oval in shape, with about 8 pins in it.
The module is about 2"x3".

The lights should work are normal with the module unpluged, some cars
require a shorting plug in order to make them work correctly, but I never had
to use it on any of the cars that I've had.

thanks i'll try finding the drl module. Yes canadian mustangs all supposably come with drl but out of the three fox's i've had, 91coupe,87hatch,91vert, this is the first one with day time running lights that work. funny thing is though this car is actually imported from california

I think the DRL module is located on or inside the drivers side fender
