Would the stereo be a good constant to wire the supplied yellow wire to? I want the fan to run even after I shut the car off.
Does anybody know which of the 3 wires on the MARK VIII fan is High speed?
I see positave and neggative on the plug, all I know is that the light blue wire is commin from the POSITAVE.

I seem to recall that to make the fan stay on after the car is off, you connect it to battery power (as you said, I think). I chose an underhood source obviously (that's where my controller is). I wonder why you can connect the yellow wire with a tiny jumper to the positive lug on your controller...........

I'll note to watch your temps. If your temps exceed the controller's desired temp, the fan can run for a bit after the car is off.

Yep - I was trying to say that to use your stereo memory circuit, you'd need to run a wire to the interior. You have constant voltage at the + terminal on your controller, at the battery, at the solenoid, etc. And all of these are closer. You can certainly use the stereo wire - that wire for the controller should just be a voltage sensing circuit.

The fan wont come on when you start the car. Once you reach the programmed temp threshold (I think it was 187*F on my controller), the fan ramps up. It will run the fan up to 100% capacity (if necessary) to keep you within a degree or two of that temp. If the car starts to cool off, the fan ramps down.

Now I dont know what the UD jumper does - I think that might make the fan come on real early (or maybe run at all times). And when the fan sees the AC is on, it turns the fan on 50% IIRC (when below the fan controller temp threshold [187*F, etc]).

I guess I have to bust out the volt meeter.

The UD constantly runs at least 10% at all times. I deleted the AC.

Would the stereo wire (6 gauge) right off of the possitive terminal work?
Where does your temp needle stand on the guage when it hits 180?

Connecting to the battery, via your amp cable, should work. All that wire does (my interpretation, not what Brian said) is: it allows the fan to run anytime that yellow wire sees 12 volts (kinda like an amp turn-on wire).

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner man... I have been busy at work. Anyway, I have these pictures to share with you to give you a hand.

I run a stock t-stat so mine is set to come on at 202. Temps never get past 210. I used to run the U/D jumper, but what is the point if the controller turns the fan on at required anyway?
