just bought a 2000 mustang V-6 auto. I noticed tonight that the steering as a small "dead spot" in it. It has a small amount of play in the steering wheel as you drive down the road. It's not a lot but it's noticable.

What would cause that? It has 18inch wheels and tires but I don't think that would have anything to do with that though...

Any thoughts?

Bad rag joint on the steering shaft, probably. It's not likely that the rack itself is bad, but play in steering components will cause the same effect.
