Currently looking for different wheels options, 18" vs 20" (staggered option). I really like how the 20's look on the Mustangs, but I've had several people tell me, "Don't do it, they'll get bent with the crappy roads we have around here" (living in the midwest). So I'm asking for other's opinions, is this statement true? What is your personal experience? How much worse is the ride quality with 20's?

I think 19"s are the best looking on the S-197s and a good compromise between performance and ride quality.

Go with 18s. Why? 10 million tire options. They are lighter. They look great.

20's look great too, but they are boat anchors. Too expensive, damaged easily, tire sizes are few and expensive.

I have OEM GT500 wheels/tires and couldn't be happier. Staggered...255 front, 285 rear. I think a 315 rear would be cooler, but I don't have enough power to turn them over. LOL.

18's are better than 20's for drag racing.

20's only if you're building a show car, IMO. 18s are more practical for everyday driving and racing.

Ok, so I found the wheels that I really like, basically a Chrome Cobra R rim (very close to what I have now) but in 19". The problem is they don't have the proper back spacing. Should a person have any conerns with adding wheels spacers to get the proper back spacing? It's not that I'm dead set on these rims, just seeing what other options are out there.
