deck Lid

OKay so i may be purchasing a 87 GT Convert, I noticed the black "luggage racks on the rear deck lid...If i wanted to put a saleen wing on the car and i removed the "luggage racks" will there be holes in the deck lid and will it need to be replaced or can i keep the original and juss mount the wing?

The rack strips are riveted to the decklid. So if you wanted a nice clean look you would have to have the holes filled and repaint the deck. To save time and money, just buy a used coupe lid and have it painted. I've seen people just remove the wing looking piece and leave the strips but it doesn't look too great.
